Chasity Renee` Russell

Cayuga, Ind. - Chasity Renee` Russell, 37, of Cayuga and formerly of Perrysville, passed away at 5:15 a.m. EST Thursday, November 5, 2015 at I.U. Health Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born April 26, 1978 in Danville, Illinois she was the daughter of Randy Wayne and Laurie Annie VanLeer Sturgeon. Survivors include her children; Alexis "Lexie", Trey and Branson Russell all of Cayuga, Indiana; mother, Laurie A. Sturgeon of Perrysville, Indiana; maternal grandmother, Annetta VanLeer of Williamsport, Indiana; paternal grandmother/step grandfather, Marilyn(Richard)Larson of Williamsport, Indiana; sister, Correna "Joey" (Shaun) Ellis of West Lebanon, Indiana; two brothers, Chad E. VanLeer of Williamsport, Indiana and Jessie W. Sturgeon of Perrysville, Indiana; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many special friends. Chasity was preceded in death by her father, Randy W. Sturgeon; maternal grandfather, Richard "Tuffy" VanLeer; paternal grandfather, Delmar Sturgeon and infant niece, Autumn Star VanLeer. Chasity owned/operated a daycare from her home. She was a 1997 graduate of Covington High School. She was a former member of the Perrysville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary (10 years) and the Rockville Armory Family Readiness Group (FRG) for six years. Chasity was a current member of the Cayuga Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed demo derbies, going to concerts and watching her children participate in their sports. Funeral services: 1 p.m. EST Monday, November 9, 2015 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Kevin Wildman; Burial: Hicks Cemetery in Perrysville, Indiana; Visitation: Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 2 to 5 p.m. EST with a memorial service by the Cayuga Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary at 4:30 p.m. EST at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses.
