Charlotte Wilson

Charlotte Wilson, 75 of Urbana, formerly of Westville, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 at 1:20 AM at Brookdale Urbana Assisted Living. She was born September 13, 1941 in Flora, Illinois, the daughter of Harold and Lenora {Snell} Carrell. On October 8, 1965 she married Richard Wilson in Danville. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1982. Surviving are her son, Shane (Michelle) Wilson of Benton, TN; grandchildren, Lauren and Brendan Wilson; siblings, David (Flossie) Carrell of Springfield, Howard (Peggy) Carrell of Westville, and Shirley Hanley of Panama City, FL; sister-in-law, Nancy Carpenter of Columbus, OH; and several nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, father, and mother, who lived to be 100 years old passing just this last year; as well as her brothers, Paul and Eddie Carrell. Charlotte loved spending time doing crossword puzzles and in her garden. She had beautiful flower beds that she took great pride in. Christmas was a favorite time of year of Charlotte's. Everything was always decorated beautifully for the season and Christmas was always a big deal in their household. She cooked and baked year round all sorts of goodies, but during this time of year she spent hours in the kitchen, making homemade candies to take to family and friends at different holiday gatherings. There were so many memories made during this season, as well as throughout her life, and they will be forever cherished by her family. A celebration of Charlotte's life will be held Monday, March 6, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Sunset- Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State Street, Westville. Her nephew, Pastor Jon Carrell will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials in Charlotte's name can be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation.
