Charlotte R. "Arrasmith" Shaw

Minooka, Ill. - Charlotte R. Shaw, 83, of Minooka and formerly of Covington, Indiana, passed away at 10:30 a.m. CDT Sunday, August 5, 2012 at the home of her daughter. She was born April 4, 1929 in Vermillion County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Pearl and Minnie Kyger Arrasmith. She married Sydney W. Shaw on February 26, 1950 in Newport, Indiana. He preceded her in death on September 6, 1985. Survivors include her daughter, Lynn Ann(John)Reid of Minooka, Illinois; two grandsons, Jonathan(Fiancee, Lauren)Reid of Shorewood, Illinois and Ryan S. Reid of Minooka, Illinois; sister-in-law, Doris Arrasmith of Cayuga, Indiana; niece, Pamela(Gene)Donald of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and three nephews, Gary Arrasmith of Kingman, Indiana; Alan(Joye)Arrasmith of Birmingham, Alabama and David(Rhonda)Arrasmith of Cayuga, Indiana. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas A.(Marietta)Arrasmith and Charles Arrasmith. Charlotte retired from the United States Postal Service in Danville, Illinois as a clerk. She was a 1947 graduate of Newport High School. Charlotte enjoyed oil painting, music and gardening. Funeral services: 3 P.M. EDT Saturday, August 11, 2012 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Cloyd Kyger; Burial: Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana; Visitation: 1 P.M.
