Charlotte Jean Bireline, 71, of Danville, passed away at 10:37 a.m. Thursday, March 29th, 2012 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Charlotte was born on January 1st, 1941, in Danville, the daughter of George and Mildred (Burmeister) Rewerts. She was previously married to Henry "Butch" M. Bireline. She is survived by two children- Shannon Bireline (Bryan) Schroeder of Danville and Henry "Buz" R. (Claudia Hardy) Bireline of Richmond, Virginia; and two granddaughters- Nelle and Molly Smith of Danville. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister- Janice Faye Rewerts. Charlotte graduated from Danville High School. She later graduated from Valparaiso University. Charlotte worked at March of Dimes in Bloomington, Illinois and later in her life she was very involved with her antique business. She had a very strong faith and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville, where she was baptized on February 9th, 1941 and confirmed on April 3rd, 1955. She loved the outdoors and was involved in the National Audubon Society. She also enjoyed her friends, cooking, hiking, photography and watching birds. Spending time with her children and grandchildren was very important to her. Her grandchildren were the love of her life and she shared many adventures with them in the activities that she loved. A Celebration of the life of Charlotte Jean Bireline will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Kent Tibben officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Monday at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home and also from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will follow the service at the Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Vermilion County Conservation District Foundation or to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
