Charlotte J. Martin

Oakwood Charlotte Jean Martin, 84, passed away at 9:20 AM on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on November 27, 1937 in Danville, IL, and was the daughter of Gene and Rose (Frost) Wrigley. She married Arkie V. Martin on April 24, 1970. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2015.

She is survived by eight children, Charlene (Stig) Follisted, Teresa Miles, Rose Bellamy, Harry "Pud" Cockrell, Misty (Gary) Priede, John Martin, Jim Bitner, and Rex Bitner, Jr; many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a few great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Randy Cockrell, and a brother.

Charlotte loved to watch NCIS and Law and Order:SVU, and would often occupy her time with puzzle books and solitaire. When she was still able, she also enjoyed going to BINGO. Charlotte especially liked her big family dinners and vacations.

A service to celebrate the life of Charlotte Martin will be held at 12 PM on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Oakwood Chapel, 105 E. South Main St. Oakwood, IL. Pastor Randy Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow at Newtown-Hebron Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 AM - 12 PM prior to the service, also at Sunset in Oakwood.
