Charlotte J. Isom, 81, of Covington, passed away at 11:30 PM on March 23, 2013 at The Waters in Covington. She was born on February 19, 1932, in El Paso, IL, the daughter of Amos Wilbur and Eva Mae (Cox) Carpenter. She married Charles Duane Isom on June 15, 1958 at Stringtown Church of God. Surviving her are one daughter- Dianna (John) Lutes of Brownsburg, IN, one daughter in law- Julia Isom of Covington, one brother- Alva (Mary Lou) Carpenter of Covington, three grandchildren- Preston Lutes, Haley Isom and Caroline Isom, three nephews- Larry (Tammy) Carpenter, Darrell (Ura) Carpenter and Steve (Tracy) Carpenter, one niece- Debbie (Cole) Butler and her cat- Meeko. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons- Wilbur Duane and infant Michael Allen Isom and one daughter- infant Nancy Marie Isom. She was a member of Stringtown Church of God where she was part of the Women of the Church of God. She was a Sunday school teacher, babysitter, and involved in boys and girls scouts. Charlotte loved making crafts, arranging flowers and taking care of animals. She even raised wild rabbits, birds and a possum. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren. A Celebration of Charlotte's life will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Sunset's Covington Chapel at 11:00 AM EST with Keith Klossner officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM EST on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials can be made in Charlotte's name to Stringtown Church of God.
