Nashville, Ind. - Charlotte Ann Schwab Miller, 87, formerly of Cayuga, Indiana passed away at 3:30 a.m. EST Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Brown County Health and Living in Nashville.
She was born April 24, 1934 in Cayuga, Indiana the daughter of the late William K. and Mona E. (Dudley) Schwab.
Charlotte married William V. Miller on April 4, 1953 in Cayuga, Indiana. He preceded her in death on August 3, 1996.
Surviving are their three children: John M. Miller (Diane), Andrew K. Miller (Emily), and Jane Ann Grogg (Pete), seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are several nieces, a nephew and cousins. Many German family members also survive.
She was preceded in death by her brother: William D. Schwab of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and two sisters: Martha L. Barrick of New Hartford, New York, and Helen R. Montgomery of Winter Garden, Florida.
It was Charlotte's initiative as a child, writing to her cousin, Rosal, that started generations of family travel to and from Germany. Charlotte was a graduate of Cayuga High School and attended Indiana State University in Terre Haute. She loved music (taking lessons for several years), her Cayuga Presbyterian Church family (especially choir members), raising flowers and traveling. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
As were her wishes, cremation was accorded. Private family services will take place at a later date in the spring at Danville National Cemetery in Danville, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cayuga Presbyterian Church, PO Box 386, Cayuga, Indiana 47928-0386 or to the charity of one's choosing. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
