Ridge Farm - Charlotte Ann Griffin, 65, of Ridge Farm passed away at 2:30 PM on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. She was born on December 20, 1948 in Boston, MA to Fred and Myra Hoffmann. She married David H. “Gerbil/Pops” Griffin on May 7, 1971 in Yuma, AZ. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2013. She is survived by her children, Sherri (Butch) Vice of Georgetown, Cassandra Griffin of Iowa, Tina (Bart Hayes) Griffin of Tilton, David (Patty) Griffin of Ridge Farm, and Dorothy Griffin of Danville; the grandchildren she raised, Ryan (Amber) Moore of Westville, Brittany Griffin of Ridge Farm, Crystal Griffin of Danville, Ashley Griffin of Iowa, William Griffin of Danville, and Lacey Griffin of Tennessee; as well as her other grandchildren, Willy Vice, Dylan Vice, and Grace Vice, Skyler Griffin, Brettnie and Bart Hayes, Kimberly and Amber Cohoon, Destanee Griffin, Sieara Harders, Jarred Brown, Colton Andrews, Mykenzie Miller, Alexia Andrews, Elizabeth Moore, and Ryan Moore, Jr., and Bethany Cottrill; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Addison McQuary, Brooklyn Martin, Jordan, Jayden, and Jasmine Taylor, Lily Vice, Ailyn and Addylee McQuary, and Marquiss, Aniya and Jannya Cottrill; two brothers, Fred Hoffmann, and Jimmy Hoffmann; and four sisters, Gaye Hoffmann, Carrie Hoffmann, Cindy Hoffmann, and Debbie Hoffmann. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Richard, and two sisters, Elizabeth and Lynn. Charlotte had worked as a restaurant manager across the United States, but had also worked as a CNA and most recently as a homemaker caring for her family. She loved to spend time with kids and grandkids, as well as all the rest of her family. Family meant everything to Charlotte and she raised not only her children, but her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and even friends. A service to celebrate the life of Charlotte Griffin will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Chuck Hess will officiate. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held from 1-2 PM prior to the services on Wednesday, also at Sunset in Danville.
