Kingman, Ind. -- Charley R. Guinn, 86, of Kingman, Indiana, passed away at 3:55 a.m. EDT Friday (July 13, 2007) at Roudebush V.A. Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born November 9, 1920 in Kingman, Indiana, the son of the late Charley and Lula Ransom Guinn. He married Marie Southard on February 8, 1941 in Newport, Indiana. She preceded him in death on December 27, 2003. Survivors include: one duaghter, Betty Jo Riley of Kingman, Indiana; two sons, Charlie Paul(Freida Kent) Guinn of Cates, Indiana and Terry Leon(Barbara)Guinn of Kingman, Indiana; five grandchildren, Sandra(Riley)Ireland of Covington, Indiana; Michele(Rick)Hunley of Kingman, Indiana; Perry Riley Jr. and Holly(Brian)Gearhart both of Kingman, Indiana and Justin Guinn of West Virginia; four great grandchildren and one great grandson, Lincoln Scott Gearhart due to arrive into this world October 2007; daughter in law, Barbara Guinn of Kingman, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his son, Tony Dale Guinn on September 19, 2003; two sisters and three brothers. Charley retired from Hurletron in Danville, Illinois in 1986. He was a veteran of W.W. II serving with the United States Army. He attended Waterman Baptist Church in Lodi, Indiana. He was a member of the machinist union I.A.M. Charley enjoyed working on, restoring and driving his antique cars. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Funeral services: 10 a.m. EDT Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. William Lehman; Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington, Indiana with military rites by the Cayuga American Legion Rainbow Post # 263; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EDT Monday, July 16, 2007 at the funeral home.
