Danville - Charles Verhoeven, 75, of Daville, passed away on December 22, 2013 in his home, the same home that he was born in on February 27, 1938 in Danville, IL the son of Moise and Lily May Goodrick Verhoeven. He was married to Glenna J. Webb on November 8, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville, she preceded him in death. He is survived by his sons James Verhoeven, and Robert (Donna) Verhoeven; his daughter Linda Huston; his grandchildren Lindsey, Cortni, Michael, Kaycie, Emileigh, Megan, Denise, Heather, Jennifer, Matthew, and Brandon; great-grandchildren Lakin, Logan, and Kyndall. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Glenna. Charles was a man of many names, his nickname was Bud, but he was known by many as Bozo. Charles enjoyed spending time sitting by a fire and being in nature with his family. He also loved to stay indoors and play Jenga which happened to be his favorite sport. He also enjoyed eating at the north side Steak and Shake, he also enjoyed socializing with the staff there. Charles could also be found listening to music and old time radio classics. Above all else, Charles loved his family, he will be sorely missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to have known him. A celebration of Charles life will be held at 11am on Friday December 27, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. A visitation will be held on Friday December 27, 2013 from 10 to 11am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in Charles name to the American Diabetes Association.
