Champaign - Charles James Studnicka, Jr., 62, of Champaign passed away at 9:17 AM on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on October 2, 1953 in Madison, WI to Charles James Studnicka, Sr. and Frances (Meigs) Studnicka. He is survived by two sisters, Barbara (David) Workman of Mahomet and Susan Studnicka of Champaign; a niece, Kate, and a nephew, Kris. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda Studnicka. Charles drove a taxi for over 20 years before going on to drive buses for Unit 4 schools. He loved motorcycles and airplanes and was an antique car buff who enjoyed working on car engines. Charles was also an avid sports fan and cheered on the Illini and the Cubs, but also liked reading and sharing his history knowledge. He had a great sense of humor and was a kind and gentle man. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Charles Studnicka will be held at 2 PM on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Sunset's Champaign-Urbana Chapel. Cremation rites have been accorded.
