CHARLES CHARLIE ERNEST ROBERTSON Charles Charlie Ernest Robertson, 53, of Tilton, passed away at 7:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2007 at VA Illiana Healthcare in Danville. Charles was born on December 14, 1953 in Danville, the son of Wilmer Leonard and Kathryn Margaret (Woodward) Robertson. He is survived by one brother- Carl (Christa) Robertson of Tilton; one sister- Rita (Bob) Haines of Oakwood; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Charles attended Danville High School. He joined the United States Navy in 1972 and served until 1974. Charlie worked at Central States Packaging for several years. After working at Central States he went to work at the VA. Charlie spent 13 years working at the VA. He enjoyed gardening and cooking outside on his grill. He loved being around his friends. Charlie was an avid Cardinals and Illini fan. A Celebration of the Life of Charles Ernest Robertson will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Pastor Dave Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00- 7:00 Monday p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #210.
