Charles Ray Tuggle

Charles "Ray" Tuggle, 85, of Covington, passed away on April 12, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 13, 1938, in Earl Park, IN, the son of James Oliver and Mary Lometa (Tillotson) Tuggle. Ray was united in marriage to Linda Sue Turner on August 24, 1958, they spent 65 wonderful years together, she survives. Ray will be deeply missed by his three sons, Tim (Kylie), Brad (Susie) and Travis (Nancy) Tuggle; seven grandchildren, Justin (Heather) Tuggle, Josh Tuggle, Grant Tuggle, Charlie (Nikki Minick) Tuggle, Miranda Tuggle, Alan (Cory) Patton, Stacey (Ashely) Stein, and Alexis (Jared) Cates; he is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren. He attended Rossville Grade School and graduated from Covington High School in 1956. Ray worked at Olin and Bohn Aluminum, but soon realized his calling was to be a carpenter. He was an accomplished carpenter and electrician, teaching his sons everything he knew. There are many homes in the area built by Ray with the help of his sons and his good friend, Bill Rasnic. Ray was a member of the Fountain Christian Church, Portland Arch, Covington, IN. He loved old cars, trucks, and his grandchildren. Ray enjoyed water skiing, playing cards with friends, camping, working in his garden, and riding his golfcart around the river bottom, even though he had a habit of getting stuck in the mud. He touched many lives. He will be remembered and forever loved by all who knew him. A celebration of Rays life will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 420 3rd St. Covington, IN with Dan Ziebart officiating the service. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the funeral home prior to the service at the funeral home. Ray will be laid the rest in Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington. Memorial donations may be given in his name to Fountain Christian Church, Covington, IN.
