Charles Ray LaGrand Sr., 65, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 10:52pm, Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born on April 21, 1945, the son of Clyde and Easter Brooks, both deceased. He was wed to Wilma Joan Osborne for 45 years and she will miss him dearly. He will also be missed by: his daughter, Claudia OToole of Georgetown; his sons, Charles Ray LaGrand Jr. of Ridge Farm & Tracy Smith of Danville; his nine grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; his brothers, James (Geneva) LaGrand of Effingham, Ronnie LaGrand of Christopher, IL, & George LaGrand of Paris; his sisters, Sue (Kelly) Handy of Chrisman, Betty (Rick) Perry of Paris, Anita (Karl) Phillips of Paris, Tracy (Larry) Jacquneaux of Champaign, Barb (Amy) LaGrand of Urbana; his uncles, James (Goldie) Brooks of Brockton & Floyd Brooks of Georgetown; his sister-in-law, Judy Moore of Boiling Springs, TN; and many nieces & nephews, including a special nephew, Bobby (Robin) Brooks of Georgetown. He was preceded in death by his brother, Clyde Jr. Charles retired from General Motors Tilton Foundry after 30 years and then worked at Commercial News for 5 years. He enjoyed going hunting, camping, & fishing. A celebration of Charles life will be held at 10:00am. Monday, June 28, 2010, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown. Pastor Leon Korb will officiate. Visitation will be 2pm " 6pm, Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery.
