Perrysville, Ind. - Charles R. (Dick) Ocheltree, 76, of Perrysville, passed away Tuesday evening, February 7, 2012. He was born August 24, 1935, the son of the late Cletus and Geraldine Jackson Ocheltree of Kingman, Indiana. He was a beloved husband of fifty-four years to Heather Anne Mitchell of Kent England, who survives. Other survivors include their son, Jonathan Cletus Ocheltree who resides in Bloomington, Indiana with his wife, Christine and their three daughters, Hadley; Annalise and Gabrielle; sister, Josephine Ottinger and brother, Donald Ocheltree both of Lafayette, Indiana; special family-in-laws, John and Beryl Branton of Kent England; Richard and Nicola Grantham of Ontario Canada. Dick served in the United States Air Force from 1953 thru 1956, attaining the rank of Staff Sargeant. He retired from TeePak in 1996 as a project engineer. Dick was a member of the N.R.A. and the Perrysville American Legioin Post #350. Dick always had a great fondness for the Wabash River and the Perrysville River Rats. Memorial services: 5 p.m. EST Saturday, February 11, 2012 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana with military rites by the Perrysville American Legion Post #350; Officiating: Rev. Jim Lawson; Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. EST Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the funeral home. A private family service and burial of cremains will be held at a later date. Following services an open house will be held at the Ocheltree residence in Perrysville. All are welcome. The family request that contributions be made to the Parke-Vermillion Humane Society, 1884 South State Road 63, Hillsdale, Indiana 47854 or to Harmony Haven No Kill Animal Sanctuary, PO Box 3305, Terre Haute, Indiana 47803.
