Charles R. Beagle, 74, of Danville, passed away December 17, 2012, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center. He was born March 8, 1938, in Danville, to Charles William and Louise Josephine (Purcell) Beagle. He married Joan M. Storch on August 13, 1966 in Peotone, IL. Joan survives. Charles is also survived by one son, Patrick B. Beagle and his wife Gayla; one daughter, Melissa L. Mills and three grandsons, Ryan P. Beagle, Nathan C. Beagle and Logan J. Mills. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Allison; father, Charles Beagle; his step-father, Steven Allison and numerous aunts and uncles. Charles served in the United States Marine Corp Reserve from 1959 to 1965. He worked at Heatcraft for 36 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Furtherlight Masonic Lodge. Charles was a devoted father, husband and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He loved gardening, his guitars and playing music; was a long time amateur radio operator and enjoyed watching the Fighting Illini and NASCAR. A celebration of Charles' life will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, December 21, 2012, at Sunset Funeral Home, Danville, with Pastor Paul Dinges officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 20, 2012, at the funeral home, with Masonic Rights at 6:45 pm. He will be laid to rest, with Military Honors, at Springhill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in his name to the American Cancer Society.
