Charles Melvin Johnson

Champaign Charles Melvin Johnson, 73, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana, IL. He was born on February 21, 1946 to Marvin R. and Viola M. (Foster) Johnson Sr. in Sandwich, IL.

Chuck is survived by his son Sean Johnson; grandchildren Carolina and Aiden; siblings Linda Scheidler, Vernon Johnson, Marilyn Fritsch, Daryl Johnson, and Sonja Reynolds; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Marvin "Bobby" R. Johnson Jr., Anita Taylor, and Starlyn Ashmore.

Chuck enjoyed playing golf with his brothers Vern and Daryl.

A graveside committal with military rites will be held in Chucks honor at 11am on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Danville National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Chucks name to the Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements are being handled by Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Champaign, IL, 710 N.
