Kingman, Ind. - Charles Melvin Booe, 76, of rural Kingman, passed away at 11:07 p.m. EDT Monday, June 28, 2021 at his residence.
He was born December 1, 1944 in Clinton, Indiana, the son of the late Marion C. and Margaret W. (Braden) Booe.
Melvin married Charlotte Miller on July 9, 1983 in Danville, Illinois. She survives.
Other survivors include his children: Mike (Chris) Booe and Julie (Jim) Flynn both of Kingman, Indiana; Debbie (Jason) Smith of Covington, Indiana; step-children: Tammy (Steve) McBee of Danville, Illinois and Scott (Stephen Zinner) Taylor of Boston, Massachusetts; seven grandchildren: Nathan Booe; Alyssa Walke; Logan Booe; Aron McBee; Kale Flynn; Greta Smith and Keira Smith; three great-grandchildren: Henlee, Jep and Etta Booe; two sisters: Gail Grubbs of Athens, Alabama and Agnes (Bob) Keller of Kingman, Indiana, and one brother: David (Jane Jones) Booe of Newport, Indiana.
Melvin was preceded in death by his sister: Sydnee Bond, and brother: Tom Booe.
Melvin was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 841 in Terre Haute, Indiana and the Kingman Masonic Lodge F&AM #314. He enjoyed mowing and working in his woods.
Graveside service and burial: 11 a.m. EDT Friday, July 2, 2021 at Miller Cemetery, Lodi, Indiana with Masonic Memorial Rites. Officiating: Pastor John Goldfuss. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
