Charles "Chuck" Milton Riggle Jr., 91, of Danville IL, passed away at 1:33 pm on Friday January 18, 2013 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville Il. Charles was born on November 18, 1921 to Charles Milton Sr. and Emma (Kuemmerle) Riggle in Danville IL. He married Mildred Kolb in 1947 in Danville, she survives. Other survivors include his son Kolby J. Riggle of Danville; daughters Gayle (Larry) Norton of Dacula GA. And Lisa Taylor of Arlington Heights IL.; grandchildren Shay Leonard, Sherry Bagley, Becky France, Rachel Riggle, and Dana Taylor; great-grandchildren Nathan and Casey Leonard, Sydney and Holden Bagley and Emma France; and one sister Jean Quick. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and brother Billy Riggle. A graduate of Danville High Chuck served his county with honor during WWII in the Burma China Theatre. After returning home from the war he started his family and worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a Letter Carrier. A handyman who was always fixing things for other people Chuck enjoyed golf, was active with the Vermilion County War Museum and a member of the Danville American Legion Post #210. Chuck was also a 75 year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Danville where he served as a deacon and an elder. A celebration of Chuck's life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday January 23, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church of Danville with Reverend Jimmy Hopper officiating and entombment in the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum where military honors will be performed by the American Legion Post #210. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday January 22, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville with a short visitation prior to the service on Wednesday at the church at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made in Chuck's name to the First Presbyterian Church of Danville or the Vermilion County War Museum.
