Charles Lee Arnold, 84 of Danville, IL passed away February 11, 2022 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Charles was born on March 16, 1937 in Dyer County Tennessee. He was the son of the late Burin Lee Arnold and Gladys Mai Brinkley Arnold. Charles married the love of his life Clara (Standridge) Arnold on August 31,1963 in Danville, IL and she survives.
Charles leaves behind his loving wife Clara Arnold of Danville, IL two children, Jeff (Lisa) Arnold of Westville, IL and Dana (Bryan) Foreman from St. Joseph, IL. Also surviving granddaughters Lara Mustaine of St. Joseph, IL, Ashely Nose of Danville, IL, great granddaughters, Gracie and Isabella of Danville, IL, two brothers, Van Burin Arnold (May Dean) of Hornbeck, TN, and Daniel Arnold of Hornbeck, TN, three sisters, Alice Faye Arnold of Newbern, TN, Peggy Brooks of Weakley County, TN and Kay Green of Jackson, TN.
Charles is proceeded in death by his parents, brother, William E. ("Bill") Arnold of Newbern, TN on April 21, 2020.
Charles grew up at a cotton farm in Tennessee before moving to Hammond, IN. He worked in the steel mill and Bohn. After that he moved to Danville, IL with Bohn, he then served two years in the Army as a lineman where he received an electrician degree and returned to work at Bohn (Heatcraft) and retired after 38 years. He was always a handyman. If he could not do it himself it was not done right. He enjoyed gardening, loved his John Deere which we will always keep in the family. He also loved his family and was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Paul Rebert will officiate. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 10-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
It is kindly requested that those in attendance of visitation or the funeral wear a mask and practice social distancing.
