Charles 'Hoot' Friedrich

C. H. Hoot Friedrich, 94, of Danville passed away at 6:38 A.M., on Friday, August 14, 2009 at his residence. He was born July 8, 1915, in Goofy Ridge, IL, the son of Peter and Sylvia M. (Eyman) Friedrich. He married Minnie H. Miller on April 16, 1948 in Havana, IL and she preceded him in death on February 25, 1998. Hoot is survived by one son, Terry L. (Sandy) Friedrich of Covington, IN; one daughter, Sally J. Friedrich of Zettlitz, Germany and two grandchildren, Sue (Lucas) White and Peter Matthew Friedrich both of Covington, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, six sisters and two children, Jimmie and Sue Ellen. Hoot worked at Illinois Power for 37 years before retiring in 1980 as a control room operator. He enjoyed walking, duck hunting and gardening. Hoot was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Havana Masonic Lodge. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. A graveside service for C.H. Hoot Friedrich will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2009 at Laurel Hills Cemetery in Havana, IL. Local arrangements handled by Hurley Funeral Home, 217 N. Plum Street in Havana, IL. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2009 from 3-5 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville, IL.
