Charles 'Gene' Waugh

Charles E. Gene Waugh, 95, of Danville, passed this Life on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Provena USMC in Danville. He was born in Collison, IL, on July 9, 1914, the son of Charles S. and Flora E. (Adams) Waugh. On August 17, 1941, Gene married Ms. Chloe Jackson. They were married for 52 years until her passing in 1993. Gene is survived and will be missed by his brother, Keith (Henrietta) Waugh of Lady Lake, Fl, and his sister, Bonnie Berglund of Rossville. Gene is also survived by several of his nieces, nephews, and his two very special friends, Jim Bracewell, and the Rick Lomax family. In addition to his wife, Gene is also preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and two brothers. Gene was a member of the First Church of Christ in Danville. He attended Armstrong High School, and later worked at Eisner Super Market Store in Danville. He enjoyed coin collecting, traveling to auctions, and watching the Atlanta Braves Baseball games. A Celebration of Genes Life will begin at 10:00 am on Friday, February 26, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with internment to take place at Sunset Memorial Park following the service.
