Charles Fratick Jr. 75, of Georgetown, passed away at 9:25 a.m. Saturday May 16, 2009 at Champaign County Nursing Home. He was born on December 23, 1933 in Georgetown, IL the son of Charles Sr. and Margaret Hoskins Fratick. He married Delores Youhas on July 23, 1954 in Tuscola, IL. She survives. Other survivors include his children, Karen Gilbert of Golden, CO and Charlie Fratick III of Georgetown; one grandson, Page Tomlinson of Champaign; sister Mary Elizabeth (James) Brooks of Georgetown; special friends Jack and Joann Boose of Georgetown and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Charlie retired from General Electric after thirty-four years of service. He was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church where he also sang in the choir. He was on the lab team that developed Teflon for DuPont in the 1950s. Charlie was an avid hunter in his early years. He was also an avid Bears, Illini, and Cubs fan. He collected antique bottles. Charles served on the Georgetown School Board for ten years and was president for two. He was a Little League Coach and played for the St. Isaac Jogues Church softball team. Charlie loved to vacation with his family at Daytona Beach Florida. One of the most memorable trips was in 1969 when they witnessed the first Apollo that landed on the moon blast off. He was a devoted husband for fifty-four years.
