Danville Charles David Setser, 83, of Danville passed away at 5:50 am in Arcadia Health in Danville, IL on July 16, 2020.
Charles was born on July 8, 1937 the son of Charles Lenzy and Josephine Ann (Holmes) Setser in Camargo, IL. He married Peggy Ann Bell on August 20, 1966 in Danville, IL and she survives.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Setser of Danville, IL, two sons, Donald Andrews of Whiteville, TN and David Lee Setser of Danville, IL, one brother, Donald (Sandra) Setser of Tampa, FL, grandchildren, Leah and Tyler Setser, Kaylee Watson, Courney Treadway and Chance Andrews, great grandchildren, Karly, Emma, Lilly, Paisley and Bryant Watson as well as cousins, Henry and Lucy Setser, Richard and Betty Setser, Eldon and Betty Baird, Leroy and Jackie Baird and Joni Pearman.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents.
Charles was a member of the Hillery Assembly of God Church, served in the United States Army from 1960-1966 was a member of the Catlin American Legion Post #0776 and retired from Hyster in 1990. After retirement he worked as a greater at Wal-Mart and really enjoyed greeting the shopper. He loved spending his free time with his family and friends and attending church services. He also enjoyed camping, playing B.I.N.G.O., and collecting die cast model cars and trucks. Charles was also quite fond of his Yorkie, "Paris".
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Full Military Rites will be accorded by Catlin American Legion Post #0776. Pastor Kenneth Young will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 from 4:00 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
It is kindly requested those in attendance for visitation or services wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Memorials may be made to the Iliana Veterans Affairs Activities Fund for Veterans.
