Charles D. Trimble, 86, of Urbana, formerly of Oakwood, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022. He was born in Fithian, IL on March 17, 1935, the son of Claude and Leona Trimble.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Kathy Trimble Barnes of Mobile, AL; significant other, Shirley Kuntz of Urbana, IL; nieces and nephews, Marvin Trimble of Charleston, IL, James "Jimmy" (Eileen) Trimble of Windsor, IL, Keri (Jim) Marsh of Danville, IL, Tracy (Jack) Jones of Oakwood, IL and Vicki Trimble of Urbana, IL.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Leona Trimble; granddaughter, Julie Barnes Dauphinee; brothers, Kenneth Trimble and Van Trimble.

Charles graduated from Oakwood Township High School class of 1952. He enjoyed playing basketball and in his younger years went to state. His true passion was farming, which he did for most of his life. In his spare time Charles enjoyed going to farm sales, ballroom dancing and watching Illini sports. He was a member of the 4-H Farmers Association and in 1969 received the JC Chambers of Commerce Farmer of the Year award.

A Celebration of Charles life will take place at 11am on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 with Pastor David Garver officiating. Following the service Charles will be laid to rest at Stearns Cemetery in Fithian, IL.
