Charles D. Simonton

Newport, Ind. - Charles D. Simonton, 45, of Newport, passed away at 12:15 a.m. EST Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at his residence.

He was born August 3, 1972 in Clinton, Indiana the son of Elsie A. (Sowers) Allen and Theodore W. Simonton.

Charles married Tracy L. VanSickle on October 20, 1992 in Veedersburg, Indiana. She survives.

Other survivors include three sons: Zach, William and Jason Simonton all of Newport, Indiana; father/step-mother: Theodore (Joyce) Simonton of Rockville, Indiana; mother-in-law: Helen VanSickle of Newport, Indiana; father-in-law: Gary VanSickle of Kingman, Indiana; one sister: Rebecca (David) Hall of State Line, Indiana; one brother: Theodore W. (Amber) Simonton, Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana, along with several nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie A. Allen.

Charles formerly worked for Zachary's Construction. He was a current Newport Town Board member. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool.

Funeral services: 2 p.m. EST Monday, January 29, 2018 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Burial: Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana; Visitation: 1 p.m. EST Monday, January 29, 2018 until time of services.
