Charles 'Chuck' Pundt

Charles Chuck Emmons Pundt, 64, of Bismarck, passed away at 5:20 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2008 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Chuck was born on October 8, 1944 in Danville, Illinois, the son of Edward and Alice (Sasseen) Pundt. He married Diana Bever on June 26, 1964 in Danville. She survives. He is survived by his mother- Alice Pundt of Veedersburg, Indiana; three sons-Richard Pundt of Bismarck, Mike (Doris) Pundt of Bismarck and Chuck Pundt of Danville; two grandchildren- Brandon and Chyanna Pundt of Bismarck; six brothers- Robert Harvey of Danville, Edward Pundt of Danville, John Pundt of Danville, David Pundt of Veedersburg, Indiana, Ronald Pundt of Danville and Greg Pundt of Gifford, Illinois; one sister- Sue Karushis of Veedersburg, Indiana; special aunt- Mary Shank; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father-Edward Pundt and one niece-Heather Pundt. Chuck attended Bismarck High School. He worked as a truck driver for 35 years, until he retired in 2000. He also worked as a maintenance worker for the Village of Bismarck. Chuck enjoyed spending time tinkering in his garage and also loved to spend his time mowing yards. That was his way of relaxing. After retiring, Chuck would always be seen at his grandchildrens games. His most important hobby was watching his grandchildren grow up. Chuck was loved by all who knew him and he always enjoyed helping other people. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and loved him. A Celebration of the Life of Charles Chuck E. Pundt will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Pastor Mark McMinn officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Gundy Cemetery following the service. Memorials may be made in Chucks name to the donors choice.
