Charles E. Chuck Charlie Owen 71, of Danville passed away at 11:55 A.M. Thursday December 30, 2010 at his home. He was born 0n March 8, 1939 in Indianola, the son of Stanley and Mary Mendenhall Owen. He first married Margaret Peg Shanks on September 19, 1958 and later was married to Marisa Giuliani Gray on November 20, 1993, She survives as well as his children; Daniel (Angie) Owen, Tim (Jennifer) Owen, Shawn (Trisha) Owen all of Chrisman, Penny Henze of Mt. Guliet, TN, Missy (Danny) Burch of Chrisman, also his step-children Patrick (Anne) Gray of Austin, TX and Leslie Phelps of Danville, one sister; Jean (Ernie) Rumple of Georgetown, 17 grandchildren; Brent, Cody, Jessica, Jordan, Tyler,Ella, Keegan, Kaden, Kolson, Jacob, Parker, Tyelen, Elliot, Alessandra, Jamie, James and Daniella. His mother-in-law Kathryn White of Clinton, IL He was preceded in death by his Parents, one infant brother and two infant sons. Chuck was a Conductor for the C&E I, C.S.X Railroad for forty plus years retiring in 1999. He enjoyed mushroom and deer hunting, fishing and tomato gardening, also he was a diehard cubs and bears fan. Most of all he loved his family and grandchildren and his cats. A celebration of life funeral service for Charles E. Owen will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday January 3, 2011 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, A Life Celebration Home in Georgetown. Visitation will be from 1100 a.m. till the time of service Monday at the funeral home. Officiating will be Elder Jean Rumple; Burial will be in the Georgetown Cemetery.
