CHARLES CHUCK EDWARD ASHBY Charles Chuck Edward Ashby, 67, of Danville, passed away at 12:24 a.m. Tuesday, January 25th, 2011 at his home. Chuck was born on March 23rd, 1943 in Danville, the son of Everett and Waneta (Staggs) Ashby. He was previously married to Joyce Ann Witt and from that marriage had two sons- Michael Sean Ashby and David Greg Ashby. He is survived by his son- David Greg (Katie) Ashby of Georgetown; sister- Jeannine Rife of Danville; three grandchildren- Keenan, Sophia and Brody Ashby of Georgetown; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son- Michael Sean Ashby and a sister- Evelyn Hafner. Chuck graduated from Danville High School and later attended DACC. He worked for Bohn/Heatcraft and NACCO, where he retired in 1999. Chuck also served as an auxiliary police officer in Danville for over 20 years. He was a member of Southside Church of Christ and a past Boy Scout Leader. Chuck loved to spend his time doing karaoke at the 610 Tap. He also enjoyed spending time with his family at cook-outs and family gatherings. Family was very important to Chuck, whether he was at his grandchildrens soccer games, baseball games or helping with their Boy Scout Troops. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and loved him. A Celebration of the life of Charles Chuck Edward Ashby will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 28th, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home, with Pastor Ron Wilson officiating. He will be laid to rest following the service in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
