Charles 'Chuck' Devore

Charles "Chuck" Wayne Devore passed peacefully in his sleep on Monday, October 23, 2023. Chuck was born in Danville, Illinois on August 2, 1969, to Bill and Connie Devore. Chuck is a 1988 graduate of Westville High School. After high school, Chuck enlisted in the Air Force where he proudly served until 2008. During that time, he met his wife, Anne Marie in Arizona and they were married in 1991.

Together they spent 10 years in Europe stationed in both Germany and England. In 2002 the couple returned to the United States and were stationed in North Dakota until Chuck retired from the Air Force. Chuck finished his military career as a Tech Sergeant.

Chuck and Anne Maries family grew in 2008 when they welcomed Zoey into their family. Chuck, Anne Marie and baby Zoey were on the move again in 2009 when their small family moved to Plainfield, IL. In 2012 the family grew again when they welcomed Jonathan, and their family was complete.

In 2013 Chuck graduated from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL with a degree in special education. He had a passion for all students and his students held a special place in his heart. He worked at Minooka Junior High School in Minooka, IL. He will be dearly missed by his colleagues, families, and students.

Chuck is preceded in death by his mother, Connie. Chuck is survived by his wife of 32 years, Anne Marie, his beloved children, Zoey and Jonathan of Plainfield, IL. He is also survived by his father, Bill Devore of Danville, IL and his siblings, Cristie (Adam) Ondrejack of Fishers, IN, Toni Myers of Bartow, FL and TJ Devore of Danville, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as cousins.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 10 am 11:30 am CST at Sunset Funeral Homes Urbas Chapel, located at 414 S. State Street, in Westville. A funeral service celebrating his life will follow at 11:30 am that morning at the funeral home. Chuck will be laid to rest following the services at the Danville National Cemetery with full military honors.
