Bismarck- Charles Richard Childers, 48, of Bismarck passed away on November 12, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on November 10, 1965 in Terre Haute, IN to Colen Neil and Betty Louise Knight Childers. He married Julie Ann Stangle on July 17, 1993 in North Lake, IL. She survives. Also surviving are two children, Amber (Tyler) Nunn of Rossville and their daughter Sophia Nunn, and Austin (Krista Henry) Childers of Oakwood; his mother, Betty (Lee “Kork”) Kilgore; three siblings, Eric (Cathy) Childers of Danville, Betty (Doug) Seimer of Oakwood, and James (Moxy) Allen, Jr., of San Antonio, TX; and a nephew Zac (Kyleah) Edwards and their daughter Rhoni. He was preceded in death by his father, Colen. Chuck had worked at Thermo Techniques for 10 years, but had also served as a butcher at Wal-Mart and Sams Club and as a professional painter. He was also a member at Second Church of Christ in Danville. Chuck loved being outside golfing and fishing, but could also be heard singing or found watching movies. He was a sports fan, cheering on his favorite Oakland Raiders or Jeff Gordon on the NASCAR track. His favorite sporting events were always the UFC fights. Chuck loved to laugh and loved making others laugh even more. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family, especially his two children. A service to celebrate the life of Charles Childers will be held at 1 PM on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home in Danville. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Drew Mentzer will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11-1 PM prior to the service on Friday, also at Sunset in Danville.
