Charles 'Charlie' A. Lewis

Charles A. "Charlie" Lewis, 83, of Georgetown, passed away at 7:10am, Monday, February 25, 2019, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born on October 1, 1935, in Vermilion County, IL, the son of Pleasant and Nancy {Pribble} Lewis. He was married to Betty Wells on April 17, 1954, in Georgetown. She survives.

He is also survived by his son, Dennis (Mary) Lewis, five grandchildren, & 7 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Kevin Lewis, six brothers, & two sisters.

Charlie retired from Westville School District in 1998 where he worked as the custodian for many years. Early in life, he enjoyed playing the banjo, fiddle, & harmonica. He also enjoyed woodworking, working on chainsaws, and collecting John Deere toy tractors. Charlie loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them, especially his grandkids.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:15pm, Friday, March 1, 2019, at Sandusky Cemetery, Westville, with Gary Hendricks officiating. Visitation will be 12:00pm to 1:00pm, Friday, March 1, 2019, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Westville, located at 414 S.
