Charles Butz

Charles Charlie' Butz, 67, of Ridge Farm, went to be with the Lord, with his family by his side, on January 28, 2012, at 4:09pm. He was born in August 3, 1943. He was preceded in death by: his mother, Edna Butz; his father, William Butz; and four brothers. He is survived by: his sisters, Mary (Jim) Rhoton & Cheryl Evans. Charlie loved to spend time with family and friends. He also enjoyed going up to chat at Casey's, going to have coffee at The Ridge, mowing yards, riding his bike, playing checkers & chess, and playing cards with his family. His many nieces, nephews, great nieces, & great nephews will miss him and will always remember all the times they had played games with Uncle Charlie. He liked going to church and listening to the Bible on CD's and music. Charlie was very grateful of everyone that helped take of him at the Cancer Center in Danville and all the staff at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman where he also enjoyed living and cherished the friends that he made. A celebration of Charlie's life will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Chapel, Georgetown, with Linda Roe officiating. Visitation will be 4-8pm, Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery.
