Charles 'Bud' Dallas Haddix

Charles Dallas Bud Haddix, 76, of Chrisman, IL, passed away at 7:00pm, Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at VA Illiana Health Care System, Danville. He was born the son of Eugene and Mary {Steeples} Haddix in Martinsville, IL, on May 10, 1937. On July 8, 1959, he was united in marriage to Shirley Ketchem in Chrisman. She will miss him dearly. He is also survived by: his son, Bryan (Sheryl) Haddix; his daughter, Melinda (Chad Pugh) Haddix; his grandchildren, Ryan Bildilli, Kayla Haddix, Kaleb Haddix, & Kelsey Bildilli Dudley; his great grandchildren, Remington Laughead, Hunter Dallas Dudley, Colter Dudley, Gracie Cash, Bud Leroy Haddix, Danielle Laughead, Sierra Dudley, & Johnny Dudley; his brother, Mike Haddix; his sister, Peggy Lewsader; and special friends, Aaron & Myrna Warner and Rodney & Sharon Garrett. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Eugene Jack” & Mary Juanita; his first wife; a stillborn son; and his brothers, Don & Kenneth. Bud was a proud Veteran serving in the US Army 1959-1962. He was a life-long farmer who never met a stranger. He enjoyed tractor pulling, as well as, antique tractors. He loved being outside in the woods, riding his four-wheeler, and finding buckeyes to give away. He really enjoyed going fishing on his trips to Canada. He attended Chrisman Christian Church and was a member of the American Legion and VFW. One of his greatest pleasures was that he spent 40 years on the Burnside Family Trust Farm. Above all, Bud loved spending time with his family. A celebration of Buds life will be held at 11:00am, Monday, August 19, 2013, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Kenny Bass & Paul Del Valley officiating. Visitation will be held 2pm-6pm, Sunday, August 18, 2013, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Woodland Cemetery, Chrisman, with Military rites conducted by American Legion Dornblaser Post #203. Memorial donations may be given in his name to Chrisman Christian Church or VA Palliative Care Unit Ward 4.
