Charles A. Lippert, 88 of Danville, passed away at 3:40am on Wednesday, September 05, 2012 at the Provena Covenant Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born on December 23, 1923 in Bath, IL, the son of Charles and Edith (Groff) Lippert. Both are deceased. On December 22, 1973, Charles married Idamae (Mann) Lippert in Danville. She survives along with four children; Stanley Lippert of Missouri, Bill (Holly) Norton of Danville, Patricia (Bob) Fender of Danville, and Judy Pelszynski of Georgetown. His eight grandchildren; Leo, Patty, Mike, Kyle, Tiffany, Skyler, Neil, Shane, nine great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren also survive him. In addition to his parents, his grandson; Charlie Jeffers, one brother; Lesliy Lippert, and one sister; Arlene Bohn preceded Charles in death. He graduated from Bath High School and was employed with Illinois Power for 38 years working in mechanical maintenance. Charles enjoyed pitching horseshoes, bowling, gardening, and fishing. He was a member of the Danville Moose Lodge where he obtained their highest level and was awarded the Pilgrim Degree. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. A Celebration of the Life of Charles A. Lippert is scheduled for 2:00pm on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pastor Rod Godley has been asked by the family to officiate the service. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-8pm on Friday, September 7, 2012 at the funeral home with the Danville Moose Lodge conducting the rites, beginning at 7:30pm on Friday, September 7, 2012 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that all donations be made in Charles's name to the Danville Moose Lodge.
