Charlene Wilson

Charlene Wilson, 78, of Georgetown, passed away at 6:55am, Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She was born on August 10th, 1930, in Georgetown the daughter of Noble T. and Ruth (Harris) Richards, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Melvin E. Wilson on September 10th, 1949, in Georgetown. He will miss her dearly. Survivors also include: her son Richard A. (Sue) Wilson and grandchildren, Benjamin T. Wilson and William O. Wilson, all of Kokomo, IN. Charlene worked for the Georgetown Post Office for several years and later worked for the Georgetown School District as a cook and eventually retired from there after many years. She was a member of the Georgetown Friends Meeting and served in various committees of the church. In her spare time, Charlene enjoyed cross-stitch and embroidery. Most of all, Charlene enjoyed being a grandma. A celebration of Charlenes life will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, December 6th, 2008, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S State St, Westville, IL. Pastor Jerry Vincent will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4pm to 7pm, Friday, December 5th, 2008, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel in Westville. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Charlenes name to the Georgetown Friends Meeting Building Fund. Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home of Georgetown is in charge of arrangements.
