Charlene Walker

Charlene Walker, 87, of Danville passed away at 12:18 PM on December 12, 2021 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL.

Charlene was born on September 2, 1934 the daughter of Charles and Ada (Smith) Johnston in Centerville, IA. She married Donald Walker on September 4, 1954 in Centerville, IA and he preceded her in death on May 11, 2004.

Survivors include one son: David Walker of Mount Pleasant, SC, one daughter: Darci Devens of Danville, nine grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.

Charlene is preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, son Donald Walker, grandson Adam Wagner and sister Judy Brees,

Charlene worked at various medical offices in the Danville area for many years. She enjoyed spending her free time cooking, crocheting, crossword puzzles, being outdoors, loved the ocean. She loved her dogs and enjoyed bird watching. She was an avid Illinois and Iowa sports fan and enjoyed watching basketball and football on television.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Adam Harmon will officiate. Burial will be in Danville National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on 5:00 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the funeral home.
