Danville- Chad Marion Gard, 38, of Danville passed away at 6:19 AM on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at his mothers home in North Carolina with family by his side. He was born on March 23, 1971 in Terre Haute, IN the son of Herb D. Gard and Brenda S. (Dave) Forren Hoehn. He is survived by his 4 sons Clein, Mason, Gavin, and Quinn Gard of Danville; daughter Carrigan Gard also of Danville; mother Brenda S. (Dave) Hoehn; sister Carrie (Todd) Everette and her 3 children Carson, Colin, and Camryn all of Greenville, NC; maternal grandparents Marshall and Wanda Forren of Marshall, IL; father Herb D. Gard of Marshall; sister Kelsey Gard and brother Bill Gard both of Marshall; aunt Vicky (John) Hoisington of Robinson, IL; and cousins Sean Hoisington and Micah (Hoisington) Matt Frazier. He was preceded in death by grandparents Marion and Virginia Gard and Ken and Prudy Hoehn as well as Uncle Randy Forren. Chad worked in industrial equipment as a regional sales manager for several different companies. He loved his kids and enjoyed assisting in and coaching with their sports, including American Legion Youth Baseball, YMCA basketball, and Schlarman Football. He was a founder of the Danville Broncos and served on the board for American Legion Youth Baseball, and St. Pauls Athletic Association. He was also an avid Bob Knight and Indiana University fan. A funeral mass for Chad Marion Gard will be held at 11 AM on Friday, February 26, 2010 at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Danville with Father Greg Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Newman, IL. A visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Thursday, February 25 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville.
