Chad Chaney

Chad Chaney, 52, of Decatur, IL, formerly of Rantoul, IL passed away on December 20, 2024 in Decatur.

He was born August 18, 1972 in Champaign, IL, a son of Gayle and Dorothy (McLamb) Chaney.

He is survived by his father Gayle Chaney of Rantoul, his mother Dorothy Miller in Anchorage, AK, grandparents Joyce and Lee Adam of CO, sister, Stacy (Shawn) Sereyko of Anchorage, nephew, Stephen Sereyko of Anchorage, Aunt, Debra Lacy, and uncles, Ronald, Donald and Richard McLamb.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Franklin D McLamb, paternal grandparents, Wayne and Lora Chaney and his younger brother Justin Chaney.

Chad attended Rantoul Township High School. He worked at Lehigh Paving for several years and also worked at A1 paving for many years.

He loved fishing and camping, basically anything that kept him outdoors.  He always had a smile on his face, regardless of what he was going through.  He was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need.

A prayer service will be held at 11:00 on December 26 at Peace Lutheran Church, Thomasboro.  Rev. Stoeger will officiate.
