Celia L. Treadway

Danville - Celia (Jane) L. Treadway, 92, of Danville died peacefully on Sunday June 5, 2016 at 9:09 pm. Celia was born the daughter of Ellis and Myrtle (Wright) Palmer on September 6, 1923 in Ogden, IL. She married Leonard O. Treadway on August 17, 1940 in Danville, IL, to which 5 children were born; Terrance (Karen), Violet (Larry) Cockrell, Richard (Tama), Donald (Dorothy), and Charles (Joyce). She is survived by three sons: Richard of Danville, Donald of Georgetown, and Chuck of Danville, 22 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a dear friend of many years, Shirley Watson. Her immediate family wishes to extend a special thanks to her nephew Jimmy Johnson of Champaign who frequently visited Celia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Leonard, one son: Terry Treadway, one daughter: Violet Ann Cockrell, as well as 10 siblings. Celia graduated from Homer High School in Homer, IL and was a member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene in Tilton, IL. She was a Homemaker and worked at Danville Tent and Awning in Danville, IL. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be Pastor Kent Pitcher. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery in Oakwood. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
