WESTVILLE- Celesta Ces Maross, 86, of Westville, passed away at 10:26am on Sunday, January 07, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Maross was born on February 26, 1920, in Westville, the daughter of Fiorello and Rose (Cherry) Marlo. On January 15, 1938, Ces married Mr. John Lary Maross in Indiana. He preceded her in death in November 1989. Ces is survived by: her two daughters, Donna (Thomas) Hathaway of Danville and Judy (Martin) Avenatti of Chrisman, IL; her four grandchildren, Dreama (Glenn) Mueller of Wood Ridge, IL, Parker (Sandy) Hathaway of Gibson City, IL, Cari Dieu of Danville, and Angie Bierly of Paris, IL; her six great-grandchildren, Megan, Morgan, Hannah, Haven, Emily, and Dalton; and her sister, Amelia Lower of Westville. Her parents and her brother, Robert E. Marlo, preceded Ces in death. Ces was a member of the St. Marys Catholic Church of Westville, and the Westville Womens Club. She was head cook for Westville High School for 35 years, retiring in 1981. She also cooked at the Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Tilton for many years, as well as owning Larys Tavern in Westville for many years with her husband. She enjoyed playing cards at the Westville Senior Citizen Center, and reading. She enjoyed the family gatherings during the holidays, and holds a close relationship with all of her grandchildren, especially Dreama. A catholic mass celebration for Mrs. Celesta Maross is scheduled for 12:00pm on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Westville. Final resting place will be at Sts. Peter and Pauls Cemetery in Westville. Father David Erickson will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 10:00am until time of Mass at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel of Westville located at 414 S. State Street in Westville. Memorials may be made in Celestas name to the St. Marys Catholic Church.
