Cecil Krout

Cecil Krout, of Danville, youngest son of Martin and Alice Hald Krout born November 22, 1910 in Eugene, IN, died at 4:30 am Friday May 5th at The Waters in Covington, IN after a three month illness. He graduated from Cayuga H.S. in 1930 where he lettered in basketball and baseball, and also attended Utterback-Brown Business College. Cecil was Secretary"Treasurer of Laborers Local #624 for 31 years, retiring in 1972 and was a 68 year member. He was also a delegate to the Vermilion County Labor Club. He married Fontella Fraley in Chicago on July 11, 1958 and she survives. Also surviving is their son Kevin (Darla) Krout of Danville and grandchildren Melanie and Stephen. His son Terry (Karen) Krout and granddaughter Krystal of Auburn, WA and grandson Richard Krout of Denver, CO and his daughter Connie (Larry) Hallett of Westville and grandchildren Dianna (Tom) Drake, Michelle Hurt and Michael Laker and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by grandson Ronald Krout of Washington, brothers Arthur and Walter and sisters Merna Pilkington and Blanche Conrad. Cecil loved the outdoors and enjoyed many years of hunting and later growing roses and doing yard work. He was an avid Illinois basketball and St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan. A celebration of life funeral service for Cecil will be 2:00 P.M. Monday May 8, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Kenny Bostwick officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
