Cathy Spiering

Cathy Ilene Spiering, age 53 of Danville, Illinois passed away at 9:20 a.m.on March 15th, 2015. She was born on August 23rd, 1961 in Danville. The daughter of Robert and Roberta (Berry) Thompson of Danville, Illinois. She married Timothy M. Spiering on November 26, 1989. She was preceded in death by her daughter Ciera. She is survived by her two daughters, Morgan and Lexington Spiering of Danville. Three brothers Micheal (Kathy) Walker, Gregory Walker of Florida, and Robert Thompson Jr. of Danville. Her sister Janet (Brad) Constans of Indiana. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and one granddaughter, Elysia. Cathy attended Cannon School and East Park Jr. High. She graduated from Danville High School in 1979. She worked at the Danville VA until 1993. She left the VA to be a mother and homemaker and worked part-time at Trinity Lutheran Church in the cafeteria until the birth of her second daughter in 2004. Cathy enjoyed doing yard work, was an avid walker, loved to bake and decorate cakes and could be found volunteering actively in Trinity Lutheran Church and Danville Lutheran School. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00-8:00 pm on Thursday March 19th, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. The funeral service for Cathy will be held at 10:00 am on Friday March 20th, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor Kent Tibben. The burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Cathy's honor to Trinity Lutheran Church located at 824 E. Main Street- Danville, IL 61832.
