Cathy Oliver

Danville - Cathy Kay Oliver, 70, of Danville, IL passed away on June 8, 2023 at 5:52 PM at Hawthorne Inn in Danville, IL.

Cathy was born on November 28, 1952 the daughter of Charles Wayne and Dorothy Fern (Cooksey) Cox in Blue Island, IL. She married John Oliver on August 18, 1973 in Danville, IL and he survives.

Survivors include her husband, John Oliver of Danville, IL, daughter, Kelly (Dan) Messmore of East Peoria, IL, and her son, John Oliver of Georgetown, IL.

Cathy is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William "Bill" Cox.

Cathy was a Special Education Teacher at East Park Elementary School in Danville, IL for many years. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Gatlinburg, TN and Myrtle Beach FL, as well as listening to music, watching movies, reading to her children when they were younger and dining on sea food.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 4:30-6:30 PM on Thursday June 29, 2023 in Wesley Commons at St James United Methodist Church, 504 N Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61832.
