Cathy Medlen

Cathy Jo Medlen, age 57, of Danville, passed away at 11:24 am on Friday, May 30, 2008 at Provena Covenant Hospital in Urbana. She was born July 24, 1950 in Marion, IN the daughter of William Eugene and Shirley (Anderson) Medlen. She is survived by her life partner and caregiver of over 40 years: Flo Williams; two brothers: Bill Medlen of California, David Medlen of Indiana; two sisters: Susan Sprowl of Indiana, Gay Behr of St. Louis, MO; several nieces and nephews that were like children to Cathy; and all of Flos family members that loved her and thought of her as a sister. She was preceded in death by her parents. Cathy worked at Quaker Oats in Danville for 25 years. She enjoyed cross stitching, latch hooking, and fishing. She was a die hard fan and collector of James Dean and K.D. Lang. She loved spending her time with family, traveling, and spending a fun filled evening at the boats. Cathy was a fun loving, humorous person that loved her animals. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Per Cathys wishes cremation will take place with a private family viewing. Sunsets Community & Life Tribute Center is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Cathys name to the American Diabetes Association.
