Cathy A Collom

Cathy A. Collom, 59 of Ridge Farm, passed away at 12:25am Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born September 22, 1957 in Danville the daughter of Larry and Susanne {Neild} Collom. She is survived by her parents of Georgetown; siblings, Charles (Becky) Collom of Georgetown, Thomas (Val) Collom of Mascoutah, IL, Brenda Opperman of Maryville, IL, Mark (Sheila) Collom of Galesville, WI, and Lora (Andy) Kyger of Memphis, TN; Nieces and nephews, Justin (Sarah), Nicholas (Brandi), Bradley, Jennifer (Dean), Chris (Britney), Matthew, Luke, Ashley (Jeff), Weslee (Nick), Neil (Chelsea), Zachary, Norris, and Emily; Great-Nieces and Nephews, Bryleigh, Natileigh, Brantley, Charleigh, Alexander, Maxwell, Samantha, Kiersten, Lilie, Lorynn, Lathan, Kapree, and Lucy; special friends, Tina, Diane, and Janell; and many other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Nathan and niece, Natasha. Cathy worked at Danville Care Nursing Home for several years. She spent three decades spoiling her nieces, nephews, and "greats". She was their "Aunt Happy" and they knew she loved them all so much. Cathy enjoyed reading, playing board and computer games, scrapbooking, and playing BUNCO with friends and family. Cathy loved to cheer on her favorite teams, the St. Louis Cardinals and University of Illinois teams. A celebration of Cathy's life will be held Monday, February 27, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown. Pastor Glenn Thompson will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Whitlock Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 2-6 PM at the funeral home. Memorials can be made in Cathy's name to her family.
