Cathryne Bahls

Cathryne Elizabeth Bahls, 89, of Danville, passed away at 5:52 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2008 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. Cathryne was born on November 27, 1918 in Danville, the daughter of William and Lydia (Allen) Longer. She is survived by her sister- Ruth Curry of Danville; nephew- John F. Fritz Morgan of Tilton; two nieces- Lindy Curry of Danville and Cindy Curry of Westville; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister- Frances McNeese. Cathryne graduated from Danville High School. She was a manager of The Fashion in Danville for over 40 years until she retired when the store closed. After retirement she worked part-time for Mags Mens Wear until 2002. She was a member of Bowman United Methodist Church. She was also a member in the Zonta Club and the Business and Professional Womens Club, where she was a past-president. She enjoyed golfing, shopping and anything to do with clothing. In her earlier years she enjoyed traveling to Florida, England and Ireland. A Celebration of the Life of Cathryne Elizabeth Bahls will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Pastor Dennis Divan officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 " 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park.
