Catherine Thompson

Catherine Thompson, age 89, of Oakwood passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at 4:55 am at Heritage Nursing Home in Champaign. She was born January 31, 1918 the daughter of Lester Emil and Vina (Moore) Shick. Catherine married Joseph Lloyd Thompson on January 7, 1941 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death in 1975. She is survived by one son: Joseph Thompson of Oakwood; one sister: Margaret Hume of Muncie, IL; and two nephews: Robert Phebus of the state of Florida and Richard Phebus of the state of Texas. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son: Lloyd Tuck Thompson, one sister: Mary Phebus, one brother: Lester Shick and one nephew: John Phebus. Catherine worked along side her husband as an Insurance Agent. They owned and operated Thompson Insurance for 34 years. They won numerous insurance and business awards for their accomplishments. Along with her duties around the house, cooking and cleaning, Catherine also took care of the bookkeeping for the business. She was a member of the Second Church of Christ of Danville.
