Catherine Jane Burwash

Rossville - Catherine Jane Burwash, 97, of Rossville passed away January 30, 3022, at 3:15 pm in Danville. Born on April 27, 1924, in Danville, Jane was the daughter of Raleigh and Alma (Heaton) Tomlinson who preceded her in death. She married Thomas F. Burwash, son of Clarence and Myrtle Burwash, on March 29, 1946, and Tom preceded her in death on April 16, 1998.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Burwash of Rossville and Susan Burwash DeBauche of Fox River Grove, IL, a grandson Brian (Karen) Kowalczyk of Ashland, WI, and one great grandson, Ethan Kowalczyk.

Jane is a member of the Antioch Church of Christ and graduated from Lakeview School of Nursing. She and Tom farmed many years together, had matching tractors, and they spent many hours in the fields. She enjoyed researching family history, was a member of the Lakeview School of Nursing Alumni, a former 4-H leader, and enjoyed working outside.

A Celebration of Life graveside Service will be held at 11:00 on Monday, February 7, 2022, at Manns Chapel Cemetery, Rossville. Steve Wilson will officiate. Sunset Funeral Home, Danville, is assisting with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Lakeview School of Nursing or the American Cancer Society.
