Catherine Hubig

Catherine R. Hubig, 95, of Danville, IL passed away October 21, 2006 at Provena USMC Logan Campus in Danville. She was born August 13, 1911 in Danville daughter of Oscar and Selma Anderson Fern. She married Mack Hubig on December 24, 1933 in Danville. He preceded her in November of 1996. Survivors include: cousins, Jack (Mary Lou) Klage of Danville, and Harry Lind of Danville, Jeanine (Bob) Freeman of Cartersville, GA, Betty (Doyne) York of Palm City, FL, Marilyn (Bill) Jefferies of Stuart, Fl, Dick (Joan) Lind of Rogers, AR, and Nadine (Wayne) Rogers of Marietta, GA. Special friend and next door neighbor Gwen Eyman. She was preceded in death by her parents. Catherine was a graduate of Danville High School and retired after 43 years as an office supervisor at Metropolitan Life Insurance. She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church where she played the piano for several years, Dorcas, WELCA, and an honorary member of Altar Guild. She enjoyed baking, reading, and watching T.V. A Celebration of Catherines life will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday October 24, 2006 at Bethel Lutheran Church 901 W. Fairchild St. Danville, IL 61832 with Pastor Ed Stone officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Monday evening at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center; 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church and/or donors choice.
